Rare: Top Rated Wine Bar

This wine bar brings a unique wine experience to the Tampa market. It focuses on unique and not widely available small-producer wines. The wine list covers many varietals, regions, and price points, ensuring there are selections for all palates to enjoy and explore. The core business is on-premise food and wine sales, with opportunities for several other revenue pipelines. The “unique” aspect of the model is executed by focusing on several aspects of the business.

The wines—as mentioned above, the wine list includes unique offerings that are not widely available. This is done through strong relationships with several distributors who focus on representing small winemakers, often mom-and-pop. These distributors know their angle and often propose offerings that fit this theme.
The service employs a team of Sommeliers who are extremely knowledgeable about winemaking, and education is a big component of the service. They have established a very high level of credibility, leading to a strong regular customer base who often leave their drinking choices to the Somms without question. The community knows they are the place to go when you want to drink wine served by Somms, who can explain anything from climates in the wine region they are drinking to the best food pairings.
The food—The food is all wine-centric and thoughtfully created to suit dynamic wine pairings. Whether you like whites or reds, they strive to create tapas-style dishes that can pair with both.
The greater approach – The approach is a greater idea that connects the different aspects mentioned. The wine bars have a casual approach at the surface, i.e., no reservations, no dress code, etc., which makes the consumer feel comfortable in what can seem like a pretentious topic (wine) if one is not very educated. Yet this “casual” feeling is backed by a fine dining level experience, knowledge, and delivery. This executes an ‘under promise and over deliver’ feeling met by the consumer and continues to build its credibility as the go-to wine venue. Restaurants may have a Sommelier on staff who curates the list and can be requested, yet it is all too common that you ask your server a simple wine question, and they haven’t the slightest clue. Every person you interact with at this wine bar can deliver.
